• The space-bar starts or stops PLAY
• The Enter key starts or stops RECORD

Shortcuts for playing the piano keyboard notes

The piano can be "played" on the computer keyboard, in the range from C3 to e5. In the first octave, the keys along the bottom row of the keyboard (Z,X,...M) control the white notes from C3 to E4, and in the second octave the top line of letters (Q,W,...P) control the white notes from C4 to G5. The black notes are controlled by the appropriate keys in the second (A,S,...J) and 4th rows (1,2,...0) of the keyboard. The diagrams below show how it works:
